LADY PACERS DOWN NORTH GEORGIA 8-1
USC AIKEN MOVES TO 2-2 IN LEAGUE PLAY
DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Visiting USC Aiken (5-4, 2-2 PBC) cruised past North Georgia (2-5, 1-3 PBC) Saturday afternoon 8-1 in women’s Peach Belt Conference tennis action. The Lady Pacers swept the doubles play and dropped just one of six in singles action.
Kristin Hunter downed Brittany Smith at #1 singles 6-2, 6-1, Mathilde Grenet took out Lilia Tzvetanova 6-0, 6-1 at #2 singles, and Marianne Blattes took out Katherine Harrison 6-3, 6-3 at #3. The lone USC Aiken singles loss came at #4, where Velina Boteva defeated Stephanie Humphrey 6-0, 6-3. The Lady Pacers lost just three games combined in #5 and #6 singles.
In doubles play, Hunter and Telford bounced back after losing for the first time as partners Friday and defeated Smith and Harrison 8-2 at #1 doubles.
USC Aiken plays their fourth match in four days Sunday, hosting Clayton State at 10:00 AM.
