AIKEN, S.C.--Nationally ranked Clayton State University (6-1-0) proved toughness against USC Aiken (3-4-0) Saturday afternoon in winning 4-0. USCA has lost five straight to the Lakers making the overall series 2-7-0. The Pacers are now 0-2-0 in the Peach Belt Conference in Head Coach Sue Vodicka’s first season.

Lady Laker offense was able to produce 14 shots and their defense was able to hold the Pacers to just four. Olaitan Yusuf and Nkese Udoh were a powerful duo leading the Lakers offense with six of the nine shots on goal. Yusaf had a goal in each half and Udoh put one up late in the second half on a penalty kick. Red-shirt freshman Jennifer Powell took a long shot from 37 yards out that sailed just over the hands of Jacquelynn Hart, scoring for CSU.

Hart recorded five saves for the day and Chime had one off the only Pacer shot on goal made by freshman Robin Smith.

The Lady Pacers will take on the Lady Indians of Newberry on Wednesday, September 28 at 7p.m. and Clayton State will play at Armstrong Atlantic State on Saturday, October 1 at 7p.m.
