GREENWOOD, S.C.--USC Aiken women’s soccer team (3-13-0, 0-7-0 PBC) traveled to face Lander University (6-7-3, 3-1-3 PBC) this evening but was unable to come away with a win. Lander’s three goals in the last 40 minutes of play proved too much for USCA. The Lady Pacer loss extends the streak to 13 games as the team goes into the last regular season game.

A tough defensive match kept the game scoreless going into halftime but Lander’s second-half spark help give the Lady Bearcats a win. Lander’s Stacey Copeland fed the ball to the front of the net from a corner kick where Noel Livernois connected and headed in the goal sending the Lady Bearcats up 1-0.

Two more Lander players would go on to score in the next 20 minutes. Nicole Bulinsky extended the lead 2-0 after an assist from Copeland. Copeland finished the 3-0 win for the Lady Bearcats off an assist from Jannica Finnberg.

Melissa Schnoering led USCA with three shots, two on goal and Lauren Meyers had one each during the match. Copeland took five shots, two on goal and came out on top for Lander with one goal and two assists.

The Lady Pacers lead the overall series 4-2-3.

USC Aiken will close the 2005 regular season with a Peach Belt Conference match against the Lady Braves of UNC Pembroke this Saturday, at 4:30 p.m.
