DAHLONEGA, Ga.--USC Aiken
(3-11-0, 0-5-0 PBC) finally snapped its scoreless streak in the fourth
minute of play but it wasn’t enough for the Peach Belt Conference
win as they drop 3-1. The loss adds USCA its 11th consecutive to the
streak.
Off a corner kick only 1:21 minutes into the game, North Georgia forward
Jessica Williams shot the ball to put the Lady Saints up 1-0. Three minutes
later, Kristi Desrosiers broke free from Lady Saints defender to send a
shot past goalkeeper Kelly Conarro deep into the net to tie the game 1-1.
North Georgia would score once more before ending the half when Williams
found the net again after an assist from Elizabeth Franklin to make the
score 2-1. With less than six minutes in the game, Nikki Greene passed
the ball off to Franklin who’s goal would be the last one, ending
it 3-1.
The overall series between the Lady Pacers and Saints is an even 1-1-1
and the first game since North Georgia joined the PBC this season.
The Lady Pacers will continue with Peach Belt Conference action as they
travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to face USC Upstate next Saturday, October
22nd, at 4 p.m. The Lady Saints will play at Northwood University on Friday,
October 21, at 3 p.m.
