SAVANNAH, Ga.--Armstrong Atlantic State (7-6-0, 3-1-0 PBC) made their first meeting with USC Aiken (3-9-0, 0-4-0 PBC) a forgettable one for the Lady Pacers by posting a 6-0 shutout in Peach Belt Conference women’s soccer action. The Lady Pirates move into a first-place tie in the PBC standings while USCA had its scoreless streak extended to 551 minutes.

Shana Neves got AASU on the board in the 13th minute off a Jamie Craine assist and then quickly added Lyndsi Stricklen’s marker one minute later for a quick 2-0 advantage. Claire McCombe recorded a pair of goals in the 30th and 41st minutes to close out the first half scoring with the Lady Pirates in front 4-0.

Neves and Aubrie Roberts added second half tallies to set the final margin at 6-0. Neves finished with two goals and one assist for a game-best five points. McCombe added a pair of goals while Donna Cheyne recorded three assists.

Melissa Schnoering registered four of the Lady Pacers six shots. As a team, Armstrong Atlantic State outshot the Lady Pacers 26-6 including 15-2 in the decisive opening frame.

USC Aiken will host Brewton-Parker tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
