SCHNOERING SELECTED TO ALL-CONFERENCE SQUAD
SOPHOMORE EARNS SECOND ALL-CONFERENCE HONOR

AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken’s Melissa Schnoering was selected to the 2003 Peach Belt Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team, the league announced on Friday (Nov. 10). Schnoering, USCA’s first two-time all-conference player, was also selected to the 2002 all-conference squad. The sophomore’s selection marks the sixth time a Lady Pacers has earned the conference honor since the PBC began sponsoring women’s soccer with the 2000 season.

Schnoering, a 5-foot-8 midfielder from Corpus Christi, Texas, tied for the team lead this season with five goals. She made 20 shots, 13 shots on goal, added one assist and totaled 11 points.

Her best game came on Oct. 23 when she scored three goals on six shots in a 4-0 win over Shorter College.

The Lady Pacers finished the 2003 season with a 3-12-0 overall record and an 0-7-0 Peach Belt Conference mark. USC Aiken fell to the second ranked team in NCAA Division II, Kennesaw State University, in the first round of the 2003 Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

The University of South Carolina Aiken competes at the NCAA Division II level and is a member of the Peach Belt Conference.
