KENNESAW, GA--USC Aiken’s women’s
soccer team lost, 6-0, to the second ranked team in the nation, Kennesaw
State University, today in Kennesaw, Ga. Jessie Fream scored two first
period goals for the Lady Owls. The Lady Pacers fall to 3-10-0 overall
and 0-6-0 in conference play. KSU improves to 15-1-0 overall and 6-0-0
in the PBC.
Kennesaw State totaled 30 shots compared to just two for USC Aiken. Jen
Mascarin (Komoka, Ontario) and Audie Beckman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) accounted
to the Lady Pacers’ shots, Jenae Gzehoviak led the Lady Owls with
six shots.
Gzehoviak, who earlier in the week became a three-time Peach Belt Conference
Player of the Week, scored her 13th goal of the season at the 75:56 mark.
KSU goalkeepers Jessica Marek and Kristin Wellman combined for the shutout
with Marek playing the first 63 minutes and Wellman the last 27 minutes.
The Lady Pacers will conclude their 2003 regular season on Saturday when
UNC Pembroke pays a visit to “Pacer Pit.” The match is set
to begin at 4:30 p.m.
