With five career Player of the Week awards, Gerolstein ties former Lady Pacer great Roxanna Rivera for most selections in school history. This is also the third time in the past three season USCA has swept the weekly awards.
Gerolstein turned in another impressive week, hitting .440 and averaging 4.15 kills per game in leading USC Aiken to a perfect 4-0 week. In a 3-1 road conference win at Lander on Wednesday, the 6-1 senior from Millersville, Md. tallied 19 kills and three blocks.
Then traveling to the Anderson Regional Crossover, Gerolstein hit .545 in three contests, averaging 3.89 kills per game. She rang up 15 kills and two blocks in a win over North Greenville, and followed that up with 13 kills and four blocks against Anderson. Leading the PBC in hitting percentage by over 75 points, the two-time All-Conference standout also tops the league in kills per game (3.57). Currently, Gerolstein ranks in the top 25 in Division II in hitting percentage at .400.
Cedeno averaged 13.27 assists per game and directed USC Aiken to a .279 hitting percentage. In addition, she added 0.64 service aces and nearly half of a block per game. In Wednesday’s win at Lander, Cedeno tallied 50 assists, seven digs, and two aces. Competing in the Anderson Regional Crossover, the native of Jacksonville, Fla. guided the Lady Pacers to hitting percentages of .329 against Barton, .435 versus North Greenville, and .316 against Anderson.
Gerolstein and Cedeno are the 26th and 27th PBC Player/Specialist of the Week selection in head coach Will Condon’s eight-year tenure and the 37th and 38th in the program’s 17-year NCAA history.
Winners of nine-straight, USC Aiken (12-3, 2-0 PBC) returns to action on Tuesday, October 2 when the Lady Pacers travel to Charleston, S.C. to face a pair of Division I foes in The Citadel and Savannah State. Two more consecutive victories would give USC Aiken its longest winning streak since 1991.
