Although it was only one match this week, Gerolstein turned in a huge performance as the Lady Pacers survived an upset scare at Augusta State on Friday in five games, winning the first Peach Belt Conference match of 2007.  The 6-1 senior from Millersville, Md. notched 17 kills and just one error for a .593 hitting percentage to go with three blocks as USCA knocked off their arch rival for the 31st time in 37 tries.

After her one error in game one, she was flawless the rest of the way, including a 3-for-3 performance in the decisive fifth and final game.  Leading the PBC in hitting percentage by over 70 points, the two-time All-Conference standout also leads the league in kills per game (3.40) and is fourth in blocks (1.00).  Hitting .525 over her last four matches dating back to September 2, Gerolstein recorded her 10th double-digit kill match this year, and the 64th of her four-year career.

Gerolstein is the 25th PBC Player/Specialist of the Week selection in head coach Will Condon’s eight-year tenure and the 36th in the program’s 17-year NCAA history.

Winners of five-straight, USC Aiken (9-3, 1-0 PBC) returns to action on Wednesday, September 19 when the Lady Pacers travel to Greenwood, S.C. to face an upstart Lander (11-2, 0-0 PBC) squad at 7:00 PM at Horne Arena.  The Lady Pacers are 14-2 all-time against the Bearcats and have won seven-straight in the series.
