GREENWOOD,
S.C.--USC Aiken (13-9, 5-2 PBC) women’s volleyball team rallied
in its fifth game in a close match with Peach Belt Conference opponent
Lander University (7-17, 0-7 PBC). The team’s battled back and
forth for the wins with game scores ending 30-27, 21-30, 30-22, 23-30,
and 15-10. USCA continues its winning streak to five games, all on
the road.
The Lady Pacers were led by Veronica Seidle and Mandy Gerolstein who
had 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Teammates Katie Baker and Missy
Deardorff had 13 kills and Laura Williams followed closely with 11.
Rachel Dalitz posted 59 assists but also added points with a .316 hitting
percentage.
Kerri Sorensen had match-high 19 kills and posted a .265 hitting percentage
and Andrea Griffin tagged closely behind with 11 kills and hit .310.
Carly Plecha led the team with 20 assists.
USCA posted four blocks and .165 team hitting percentage, while Lander
had 11 and hit .179.
USC Aiken will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for another PBC match up
with USC Upstate tomorrow at 7 p.m. Lander will host Augusta State
University tomorrow at 7 p.m.
