WIN STREAK EXTENDED FOR LADY PACER VOLLEYBALL
LLOYD RECORDS 32 KILLS IN FIVE-GAME WIN OVER LMU

JEFFERSON CITY, TN--After a five match losing streak to start the season, the USC Aiken volleyball team put together a four game winning streak this weekend capped off with wins today over Mars Hill College and Lincoln Memorial University at the Carson-Newman Tournament in Jefferson City, Tenn. The Lady Pacers (4-5) shutout Mars Hill 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-16) and edged Lincoln Memorial 3-2 (30-17, 20-30, 30-24, 29-31, 15-9).

Jenny Lloyd (Fife, Wash.) and Amy Long (Redlands, Calif.) contributed 15 and 13 kills respectively in the three game sweep of Mars Hill College. Rachel Dalitz (Orange, Calif.) led the team with 36 assists and Nicole Fleming (Summerville, S.C.) came off the bench to lead the Lady Pacers with 11 digs.

“This was a decisive victory four us,” said USCA Head Coach Will Condon. “This is the best we’ve played so far this season.”

Lloyd came out in game two and scored 32 kills in the five game match against the Lady Railsplitters. Complete statistics for USC Aiken’s match against Lincoln Memorial University were unavailable at the time of this release.

USC Aiken will take a week off before traveling to Montevallo, Ala., for the University of Montevallo Coca-Cola Classic on Sept. 12 and 13. On Friday the Lady Pacers will play Carson-Newman at 4:00 p.m., and Lynn at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday USCA will take on West Alabama at 9:00 a.m., and Montevallo beginning at 1:00 p.m.
