Linde Tabbed USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's cross country runner Jani Linde was selected as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, Sept. 28.
Linde obtained her fourth top 10 finish of the year and the USC Aiken women's cross country team finished in fourth as a team at the 6K Jaguar Invitational at Blanchard Woods Park last Saturday.
Linde (Columbia, S.C./Dublin Coffman) concluded the Jaguar Invitational with a time of 26:27.50 to acquire her fourth consecutive top 10 finish with a ninth place showing.
Two weeks earlier at the Wingate Invitational Linde came in with a time of 25:53. The time left her in seventh place at the event. It was also her personal best time, easily besting her previous personal best 6K time of 27:16.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly created award. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
