Pacers Finish 10th at Furman Invitational

GREENVILLE, SC - The women’s cross country team of USC Aiken finished 10th with 333 points at the Furman Invitational on Saturday October 11 at the Furman Golf Course in Greenville, SC. Samford University came in first with 38 points, while Peach Belt Conference foe North Georgia College and State University finished just ahead of the Pacers with 246 points for ninth place.

Sophomore and reigning PBC Runner of the Week, Nicole Maitland, led the Pacers across the finish line as she came in 43rd place with a time of 21:13. Junior Emmy Lawalin of NGCSU was the only PBC runner to finish ahead of Maitland, finishing in 31st place.

Coming in just behind Maitland was freshman Morgan Hudgins, finishing in 61st place with a time of 21:57. Following her was senior Renea Marshall, crossing the line at 22:38 for 69th place.

Finishing in 76th place for the Pacers was junior Jani Linde with a time of 23:23. Coming in 84th place was senior Alley Dachenhaus with a time of 25:01, followed by freshman Alexis Williams with a time of 32:19 for a 111th place.

The Pacers’ next meet will be on October 25 at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Milledgeville, GA. Gun start-time will be at 9:00 a.m.
