Maassen Named South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball player Emily Maassen was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 13, 2011.

In USC Aiken’s season-ending loss to Augusta State in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 11, Maassen tied for the team-high in kills with 13.

Maassen (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) had a match-high tying four blocks in the narrow Pacer loss. She collected five digs in the match.

Maassen concluded her sophomore season with 155 kills. She had a total of 47 blocks on the season.
