Lukralle Tabbed Days Inn Downtown Aiken USC Aiken Athletic Department Student Athlete of the Month

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball player Samantha Lukralle has been tabbed as the Days Inn Downtown Aiken USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of November.

The reigning Student-Athlete of the Month for October, Lukralle finished her second season in a Pacer uniform in November in fine form collecting 82 digs, averaging an impressive 5.12 digs per set, and four service aces in four matches including two Peach Belt Conference Tournament matches. She ended her season with two new school records under her belt; most digs in a season (634) and most service aces in a single match (10 against Coker on Oct. 23).

A native of Lindenhurst, N.Y., Lukralle recorded 19 or more digs in three of USC Aiken’s four matches, recording a month-high 29 digs in the Pacers’ season finale match against the Falcons of Montevallo on Friday, Nov. 5.

She was awarded for her efforts both on and off the court with four postseason accolades.

Lukralle’s first postseason plaudit came on Wednesday, Nov. 10 as she was named to the 2010 PBC All-Academic Team. She currently boasts a 3.90 grade point average as a Nursing major.

Later that week, she was named the PBC Libero of the Year as voted by the league coaches at the annual PBC Volleyball banquet on Friday, Nov. 12 before being selected to the All-Tournament team a couple days later at the conclusion of the 2010 PBC Volleyball Tournament.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 14, Lukralle picked up her final postseason plaudit on Wednesday, Nov. 24 as she was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Second Team as the team's libero/defensive specialist.

The Days Inn Downtown Aiken USC Aiken Athletic Department Student Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.

Each month one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
