Pacer Women’s Tennis All-Decade Team Released
AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken athletic department and head coach Steve Dahm released the 2000-10 Women's Tennis All-Decade Team on Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
The 2000-10 USC Aiken Women's Tennis All-Decade team features six singles student-athletes and three doubles teams.
"This list was paticularly difficult to put together as we've been a team of depth over the years, not a team of individual stand-outs," remarked Dahm. "With that said, every player on this list made a major impact on the program and on me as a coach."
Kristin Hunter (2008) was only a member of the USC Aiken women's tennis program for one season, but she made an immediate impact as she went 12-4 at No. 1 singles in the 2008 season. She was 6-3 in Peach Belt Conference action that season.
Maria Claudia Romo (2002-03) was a member of the USC Aiken women's tennis team for two seasons. She played at No. 1 singles for both of her seasons in the Pacer program.

The normal doubles partner of Kaefer, Dominique Cassetori (2003-06) finished her career with 40 wins in singles action. She owned 49 doubles wins. Cassetori and Kaefer ended their time as a doubles duo with a school record 19 wins at No. 1 doubles.
Alexis McCarty (1999-2002) finished her career as a Pacer with a school record 64 wins in singles. She is still also the Pacer career leader in women's tennis in total doubles wins with 60.
Erika Eles (2000-03) is second only to McCarty in terms of singles and doubles wins in Pacer women's tennis history. Eles finished her career with 49 singles victories and 51 doubles wins. She and McCarty in 2000 and 2001 combined for a school second-best 21 wins as a doubles team.
Mathilde Grenet (2007-10) and Brittany Telford (2007-10) claimed 15 wins as a doubles tandem in 2009 and 2010. Both are in the top 10 in school history in singles and doubles wins. Grenet claimed 39 singles wins and 41 doubles victories, while Telford acquired 44 singles wins and 49 doubles wins. Grenet has the most wins in school history at No. 2 singles with 23.
Over a two-year period from 2009-10, Stephanie Humphrey (2008-11) and Maria Soledad Angel (2007-10) won a school second best 26 times as a doubles duo. Both are in the top 10 in school history for doubles wins in total with Angel claiming 47 and Humphrey obtaining 46. Humphrey is also the all-time leader in school history in wins at No. 1 singles with 19.
