Special Night of Soccer at Pacer Pit on Oct. 8

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s and women’s soccer teams will be playing host to a special night of soccer at the “Pacer Pit” on Saturday, Oct. 8.

The special night of soccer begins at 5 p.m. with the Pacer men squaring off with the Georgia Southwestern men. After the conclusion of the men’s match, the Pacer women will take on the Hurricane women at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Admission to both matches of the doubleheader is free.

The doubleheader will be City Soccer Night at USC Aiken as all of the city of Aiken soccer teams are invited to attend the special twinbill.

Players and parents from teams in the area are encouraged to donate used soccer gear to USC Aiken men’s soccer Head Coach Ike Ofoje’s charity that benefits underprivileged children in Africa. For questions, please contact Coach Ofoje at 803-641-3717.

The doubleheader is also “Kick Out Cancer” night for the Pacer women at the “Pacer Pit.”

The special day will feature t-shirts, koozies, pins, lanyards and hats for sale with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.

The Pacer women will also be wearing special “Kick Out Cancer” uniforms in the match (special thanks to Jim Hanna Sportswear).

The special "Kick Out Cancer" promotion is being sponsored by the Aiken Regional Medical Center and Prime Steakhouse, who is donating food for the special event.

Campus Outreach will be selling concessions during both of the games of the doubleheader.
