AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken head women’s basketball coach Mike Brandt unveiled the 2011-12 Pacer women’s basketball schedule on Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
The 2011-12 USC Aiken women’s basketball schedule features a tough non-conference schedule to go along with the always rigorous full Peach Belt Conference slate.
“When you finish the regular season with the No. 2, No. 6, and No. 8 nationally-ranked teams from your conference, and you have the defending national champions in that mix, you know the Peach Belt will be a great challenge,” mused Brandt. “We tried to schedule a tough non-conference slate to help prepare us for that test. Seven of our eight non-conference games are against formidable regional opponents – so it will be important for us to jump out of the gate ready to play. We have a great nucleus of players coming back and I am very excited with the new signees. Hopefully, they will blend in well and our team chemistry will be comparable to last year’s.”
USC Aiken will begin its journey in the 2011-12 season with an exhibition game against Atlantic Sun Conference foe and NCAA Division I institution Jacksonville on Saturday, Nov. 5.
