Pacers Move Up Two Spots to 14th in Latest National Poll

LILBURN, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball team moved up two spots to 14th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

The Pacers were ranked 17th in the preseason USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. In the first regular season poll of the 2011-12 on Nov. 22, USC Aiken checked in at No. 23. The Pacers were ranked 21st on Nov. 29. USC Aiken was ranked 18th in the Dec. 6 poll. In the last poll of the 2011 portion of the 2011-12 regular season on Dec. 13, USC Aiken was ranked 16th.

USC Aiken commences the 2012 portion of its 2011-12 regular season riding an eight-game winning streak. The Pacers were a perfect 5-0 during the month of December.

USC Aiken is 9-1 (2-0 PBC) overall.

USC Aiken has been in the Top-25 for at least one week in four of the last five seasons.

The Pacers were ranked as high as eighth nationally and finished the year ranked a program-best 13th in the final poll of the 2010-11 season. The Pacers would close the year by being ranked in the final 12 polls of the 2011-12 season.

USC Aiken has now been ranked in 18 straight USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

USC Aiken next opens the month of January by diving head first into Peach Belt Conference action. The Pacers will commence the month on the road against Francis Marion in Florence, S.C. at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

The Pacers will close the week by welcoming Columbus State to the Convocation Center for a 1:30 p.m. contest on Saturday, Jan. 7.
