Harris Named South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball player Kayla Harris was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 8, 2012.

This marks the second time in the 2011-12 season that Harris has claimed the award. She was also chosen the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Dec. 5, 2011.

Harris led the 14th-ranked Pacers to a perfect 2-0 record last week by averaging 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and one assist per game.

Harris concluded last week shooting 60 percent (12-of-20) from the field.

In USC Aiken’s first game of the week on Wednesday, Jan. 4, Harris posted 13 points in USC Aiken’s road win over Francis Marion.

Harris finished USC Aiken’s victory over Columbus State on Saturday, Jan. 7 with 21 points. It was her second 20 or more point effort of the season.
