Cain Selected to PBC Womens Basketball All-Conference Team

AIKEN, S.C. - USC Aiken senior forward Catherine Cain concluded her Pacer career on Friday evening by being named to the Peach Belt Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference team.
Cain was honored during a special banquet at the Convocation Center on the eve of the 2010 Marvin Vanover Peach Belt Conference Basketball Championships.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Cain finished her one year in a Pacer uniform averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game over the course of the 2009-10 season. Cain started all 28 of USC Aiken's games in the 2009-10 campaign.
The Ohio University transfer scored in double figures in 20 of USC Aiken's 28 games. She scored 15 or more in 12 of the 20 games.
Cain finished the season with three double-doubles. One of the three double-doubles came when she scored 17 points and brought down 11 rebounds in USC Aiken's home win over nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne.
Cain had her best individual outing of her career in USC Aiken's narrow loss to NCAA Division I Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. on Dec. 5, 2009. Cain scored a career-high 25 points in the contest. She was 9-for-14 from the field in the game. She connected on five three-pointers.
Cain averaged 26.6 minutes per game. She shot 42.6 percent from the field in USC Aiken's 28 games.
Cain was the top free throw shooter in the Peach Belt Conference during USC Aiken's 18 PBC games with the senior hitting upon 83.1 percent of her free throws in conference. Overall, Cain finished third in the PBC in free throw percentage in the 2009-10 season at 79.7 percent.
