Pacers Will Now Play Newberry on Road on February 18

AIKEN, S.C. - USC Aiken head softball coach Jerry Snyder announced today that USC Aiken's scheduled home softball doubleheader with Newberry will now be played in Newberry on Thursday, Feb. 18.

The twinbill in Newberry will begin at 2 p.m.

The Pacers will open their season on the road this weekend in Charlotte, N.C. against Queens on Sunday, Feb. 14.

The Valentine's Day doubleheader matinee is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

USC Aiken will play its first home doubleheader of the year on Tuesday, Feb. 16 against Erskine. The twinbill is set to begin at 4 p.m. The Pacers will then play the doubleheader with Newberry two days later on Thursday, Feb. 18.

The USC Aiken softball team was ranked 13^th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 preseason poll, which was released on Wednesday, Jan. 27. 

The ranking is the highest ever preseason national ranking for the Pacer softball program. The Pacers concluded the 2009 season ranked a program-best 12^th.
