Flessate Tabbed USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken softball player Toni Flessate was chosen as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on April 5, 2010.
Flessate (Goose Creek, S.C./Stratford) helped the Pacers end the week on a three-game winning streak by going a perfect 3-0 in the circle for the Pacers last week.
Flessate opened last week by striking out six in USC Aiken’s 3-1 win over Armstrong Atlantic State on Mar. 31 at J.H. Satcher Field. She followed up the performance by dealing the final two innings en route to the victory in USC Aiken’s dramatic 10-inning 4-3 win over Chowan in the first game of their doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 3 in Murfreesboro, N.C.
She then quickly turned around and pitched a complete game in the second contest of the twinbill. She fanned six in guiding the Pacers to the sweep of Chowan.
On the week, Flessate owned a 1.69 ERA. Her opposition hit just .173 against her in the three games. She is now 11-7 on the 2010 season in 21 appearances.
