AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team is ranked 32nd in the final Campbell's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II national rankings of the 2011 season.
The Pacers are one of eight Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the final ITA national rankings. Armstrong Atlantic State is the highest ranked Peach Belt Conference team at No. 3. Columbus State is the only other PBC team in the top 10 at No. 9.
Lander is 11th in the final tally, while Flagler is 12th, Augusta State is 16th, Francis Marion is 17th and Georgia College is 19th.
In the final Southeast Region rankings of the year, USC Aiken is 10th. The aforementioned PBC teams are 1-7, while Anderson is eighth and Queens is ninth.
All-Peach Belt Conference performer Gregory Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Unigrade Valinhos) ended his junior campaign ranked 41st nationally and 15th in the region. Andrade played No. 1 singles all year for the Pacers. He was 6-9 overall in 2011.
Andrade and doubles partner Bruno Orlandini were the Pacers' No. 1 tandem in 2011. They were 8-8 on the year with all their matches at No. 1 doubles. They were 4-5 in PBC matches.
Their efforts on the year led to them earning All-PBC accolades and ending the year ranked seventh in the Southeast Region. The duo concluded the year 16th nationally.
USC Aiken as a team finished its year overall with an 8-10 record. The Pacers were 2-7 in Peach Belt Conference action.
