AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's and women's tennis teams swept visiting Limestone College on Saturday afternoon at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.

The 25th-ranked Pacer men knocked off national No. 35 Limestone (1-2), 6-3. The Pacer women picked up an easy 8-1 victory over Limestone (0-3).

USC Aiken's men's tennis team is now 2-1 on the 2011 season. The Pacer women improved to 3-2 on the year with its win.

The story of the men's match was doubles with the Pacers taking all three. The three doubles points would prove to be very important with the Pacers dropping No. 1-3 singles. USC Aiken swept the fourth, fifth and sixth singles flights.

Juan Guglielmeti (Mar del Plata, Argentina /Instituto Albert Einstein) secured the biggest win of the day in singles, besting Limestone's Abraham Lascari Diaz 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. USC Aiken's two other singles points were hard fought with the Pacer wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles coming in three sets.

The Pacer women had little trouble with Limestone on Saturday with USC Aiken's lone loss coming at No. 1 singles.

Pacer newcomer Franziska Regel (Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Farmsen) acquired the most lopsided win in singles for USC Aiken, downing Limestone's Krystal Barker 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

After a busy week, USC Aiken's men's and women's tennis teams now have some time off before welcoming Anderson to the USC Aiken Tennis Complex for a 2 p.m. match on Friday, Feb. 18.
