USC Aiken to Face Flagler in Opening Round of PBC Tournament

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s soccer team is the eighth seed in the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Championship and the Pacers will face off against league regular season champion Flagler in the opening round on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. All of the action will be able to be followed live on USC Aiken’s official athletic website at www.PacerSports.com.

USC Aiken and Flagler met earlier this season at the “Pacer Pit” on Saturday, Oct. 15. Flagler garnered a narrow 1-0 victory in the match with Joseph Toby netting the lone goal of the match in the 35th-minute.

The Pacers concluded the 2011 regular season with a 3-9-4 record. The Pacers were 1-5-2 in Peach Belt Conference action during the regular season. 

Nationally 17th-ranked Flagler enters the PBC Tournament owning a 12-3-2 record overall. Flagler concluded its conference season with a 6-1-1 record.

Flagler owns a 3-0 all-time series advantage over the Pacers.

All first round games in the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Championship will be hosted by the higher seed on Tuesday, Nov. 1. The winners of those four contests will advance to the PBC final four on Friday, Nov. 4 at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga. The championship game will be played on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Blanchard Woods.
