MORROW, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team fell 6-0 to nationally 17th-ranked Anderson in its final game of the Laker Soccer Shootout at Laker Field.
The match was USC Aiken's second of the Laker Shootout as the Pacers bested Pfeiffer, 4-1, one day earlier at Laker Field.
Anderson (1-1) finished with nine more shots than the Pacers in the contest at 19-10. USC Aiken (1-1) held a 7-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Four different Trojans scored in the win over the Pacers with Clement Samson and Ryan Messick each netting two goals. Messick also had an assist.
USC Aiken will next open play in 2011 at the "Pacer Pit" with the first of a season-high three consecutive home matches. On Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5, USC Aiken will play host to Palm Beach Atlantic at 6 p.m. It will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.
