Strong Second Round Moves Pacers Up Two Spots
CLEMMONS, N.C. – USC Aiken is in seventh place as a team
after the first two rounds of play of the Will Wilson Southeast
Regional Preview at the par 70 Tanglewood Park Golf Club
Championship Course.
USC Aiken improved upon a first round 301 with a second round 292
to move up two spots to seventh with a two-round tally of 593.
Individually, USC Aiken's Mark Dickson (Edinburgh,
Scotland/Firrhill) improved by one stroke on his first round tally
to finish the first two rounds of play in a tie for 16th at 147
(74-73).
Dickson is one of two Pacers currently in the top 30 as Gaines
Milliner (Aiken, S.C./Aiken) carded an even-par 70 in the second
round to move up from 55th to 27th after two rounds. Milliner
carded a 79 in round one before netting the 70 in round two to own
a two-round tally of 149.
There is currently a three-way tie for first place individually
overall with Belmont Abbey's Peter Tarver Jones, UNC
Pembroke's Jonathan McCurry and Carson-Newman's Liam
Ashby tied for first at 142.
Newberry College is in first place as a team entering the final
round of play on Tuesday. The Wolves (577) are four strokes ahead
of current second place team Queens (581).
The third and final round of the Will Wilson Southeast Regional
Preview is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct.
