Pacers in Fifth Through Two Rounds of Play at PBC Championship

POOLER, Ga. – The 18th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in fifth place as a team after the first two rounds of action at the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Golf Championship at the par 72, 7,016-yard Savannah Quarters Country Club.
USC Aiken concluded the first two rounds with a total two-round cumulative team tally of 593 (291-302).
The Pacers had two players under par in the first round with Hayden Letien shooting a one-under par 71 and Kyle Godsman carding a season-best tying 69.
Godsman (Moray, Scotland/Lossiemouth) had four birdies in his first round to go along with an eagle that he picked up on the par 5 17th hole.
USC Aiken was in second after the first round of play with a 291.
The Pacers posted a 302 as a team in the second round of play.
Gaines Milliner (Aiken, S.C./Aiken) carded the best score for USC Aiken in the second round with a two-under-par 70. Milliner had three birdies in the second round.
Letien (Sumter, S.C./Sumter), who finished with a 74 in round two, claimed USC Aiken's second eagle of the day on the 17th hole in the second round.
Milliner (75-70) and Letien (71-74) are currently tied with two others for eighth at 145.
The Pacers have three players in the top 15 through the first two rounds of action as Godsman (69-80) is in a tie for 15th at 149.
Flagler is presently first as a team after the first two rounds at 584 (293-291). Georgia College (282-303) and Armstrong Atlantic (292-293) are right on their heels in a tie for second at 585.
Recently named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year Billy Shida of Georgia College is in first individually after the first two rounds of action at 139 (66-73).
The third and final round of the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Golf Championship will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12.
