Pacers Move Up Four Spots in Second Round of Regional Preview
CLEMMONS, N.C. - The 16th-ranked University of South
Carolina Aiken golf team carded a team score of 292 in the second
round to move up four places to fourth place at the Will Wilson
NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Preview at the par 70
Tanglewood Championship Course.
USC Aiken has a two-round cumulative team score of 593 (301-292).
The 593 places them in a tie for fourth with Carson-Newman entering
the third and final round.
Frederik Schulte posted a 72 in the second round to finish his round in sole possession of fifth place individually with a total two-day output of 143. Schulte (Koln, Germany/Herzogenaurach) shot a 71 in the first round.
Lander concluded the second round as the team leader entering the final round. The Bearcats fired a team total score of 283 in the second round to finish the first two days with a cumulative team tally of 580 (297-283). The 580 places them three strokes ahead of second place Barton (583) and third place and host institution Belmont Abbey (586).
Lander's Charlie Hoyle carded a four-under-par 66 in the second round to tie Barton's Thomas Muto, Jr. for the individual lead at 138 entering the third round. Hoyle's 66 was matched by Flagler's Chris Bray on Monday. Bray is currently in sole possession of third at 139.
The third and final round of the Will Wilson NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Preview will take place on Tuesday. Action is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m.
