Brown Chosen South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball player Alvin Brown was selected as the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 1, 2011.

A sophomore transfer, Brown had his best game in a Pacer uniform in USC Aiken's 101-86 victory over Mars Hill on Dec. 30, 2010.

Brown finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in leading the 13th-ranked USC Aiken men's basketball team to the dominating win.

Brown collected his first career double-double in the win over Mars Hill with his 21 points and 12 rebounds. His six blocks were a USC Aiken career-best, but not his overall career-high as he had seven swats last year in a James Madison victory over Longwood on Feb. 22, 2010.

The 6-foot-10 center out of Fort Washington, Md. is leading the Pacers this season with 20 blocks.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week award honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
