Leverett Named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball player Teddy Leverett was selected as the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

Leverett hit .571 (11-for-19) in four games last week for the Pacers. The junior transfer from Truett-McConnell finished with two doubles and five RBIs.

He produced multiple hits in all four games.

Leverett opened his week by going 2-for-6 with two RBIs in USC Aiken’s Outback Cup victory over Augusta State on Tuesday, March 29.

In USC Aiken’s three-game series with Flagler, Leverett hit .692 (9-for-13).

In the opener between USC Aiken and Flagler on Saturday, April 2 the Evans, Ga. native was 3-for-4. In the second game he was a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles.

Leverett was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the series finale on Sunday, April 3.

For the week, Leverett owned a .600 on-base percentage.

Leverett is presently ninth in the PBC with a .360 batting average. He is tied for 10th in the league in stolen bases with eight.

Leverett and the USC Aiken baseball team play host to Young Harris this evening (Tuesday). First pitch from Roberto Hernandez Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
