AUGUSTA, Ga. - USC Aiken's Bill Rice was chosen as the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Rice was given the award this week for his record-breaking efforts last week. It is his second honor of the week as he was also chosen the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, Feb. 22.

Rice (Sewell, N.J./Gloucester County College) had one of the most productive weeks in Pacer baseball history in USC Aiken's four games inside the friendly confines of Roberto Hernandez Stadium last week.

Rice concluded his week hitting .500 (10-for-20), while also owning an astonishing slugging percentage of 1.300 and an on-base percentage of .476.

Rice obtained three of his five hits on the day by belting a school single-game record three home runs.

Rice's three home runs and five total hits led to him tying the school single-game record for most RBIs in a single contest. The five hits also tied the school single-game record.

Rice followed up his performance in Saturday's win by going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored in USC Aiken's series-clinching 10-2 win over Georgia Southwestern on Sunday, Feb. 21.
