Miller Tabbed USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball player Josh Miller was chosen as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on May 3, 2010.
A freshman from Chapin, S.C., Miller hit a team-best .556 in USC Aiken’s two games last week. He was 5-for-9 from the dish in total.
The Chapin High School product played two different positions for the Pacers last week, starting USC Aiken’s first game against Catawba on Friday, April 30 at catcher. He started the Pacers’ second game against Catawba on Saturday, May 1 in left field.
In USC Aiken’s narrow game one loss to Catawba last Friday, Miller was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored. He had six putouts from his position at catcher. Miller was 1-for-5 with one run scored in USC Aiken’s loss to Catawba on Saturday.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly created award for the 2009-10 athletic year. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
