Loker Selected USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball player JJ Loker was selected as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on February 8, 2010.
A true freshman, Loker (Elkton, Va./Spotswood High School) made his first weekend as a Pacer a memorable one as he finished the weekend with a .545 batting average. In USC Aiken's three games, Loker was 6-for-11 at the dish.
He finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of .818.
Loker was a pinch hitter in USC Aiken's season opener in the first game of last Saturday's doubleheader. He made his first start in USC Aiken's narrow second game loss on Saturday to Lincoln Memorial. Loker played three positions on the weekend for the Pacers, seeing action at second base and third base as well as in right field.
Loker finished his first start in Saturday's second game going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He hit his first home run as a Pacer in the contest.
In USC Aiken's emphatic 14-5 win over Lincoln Memorial to close out the week on Sunday, Loker went 2-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly created award for the 2009-10 athletic year. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
