GREENWOOD, SC--Lander (7-2-1, 2-2-0 PBC) got on the board in the 28th minute and added three insurance markers in the final stanza to notch a 4-0 win over USC Aiken (0-7-0, 0-4-0) on Saturday afternoon in men’s Peach Belt Conference soccer action in Greenwood, SC. The Bearcats evened their conference mark at 2-2-0, while the Pacers remain winless on the season.

Peter Martisek scored off a Luke Ibbetson pass at 27:57 to open the scoring for Lander. Ibbetson would later score two second-half goals, one in the 54th minute (Carlos Lozano) and the other in the 82nd minute (Zach Ducey) to set the final margin.

Trailing 1-0 to open the final 45 minutes of play, the Bearcats quickly made it 2-0 on Chiddy Mgbor’s goal in the 50th minute (Lozano).

USC Aiken was out shot 14-8. Kevon Aberdeen was the lone Pacer to fire more than one shot on goal as he attempted two.

Senior goalkeeper Peter Calabrese registered six saves in 90 minute of action for USC Aiken.

USC Aiken returns home to host Benedict College on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 PM.
