3 FRESHMAN AND 1 SOPHOMORE MAKE UP SECOND GROUP OF RECRUITS

AIKEN, S.C.--New USC Aiken Head Men’s Basketball Coach Vince Alexander announced today a second wave of recruits that will join the Pacer program in 2005-06. Three freshmen and one sophomore make up the second group of incoming players. Kingsley Oguchi, Mark Brown, Stephen McKoy and Terrence Woodbury brings Alexander’s total of new players to nine.

“ We’re very excited about these young men joining our program, they have had good careers at their previous schools and we look forward to them bringing that experience to USC Aiken,” said Alexander. “All nine of these guys are going to help establish a foundation for what we want to do here, be successful academically and build USCA into one of the top Division II programs in the country.”

Oguchi is a 6-foot-2, freshman, guard from Richmond, Texas. He averaged 13 points, five rebounds and five assists per game at Richmond High School on his way to earning first team all-district and Honorable Mention All-Greater Houston honors.

He was named MVP of last year’s Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. In addition he was selected to the Daily News All-City First Team, the All-Manhattan First Team and the All-PSAL First Team.

Woodbury is a 6-foot-5, sophomore, forward from Melbourne, Fla. He enters USCA as a sophomore after playing one season at Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Fla. In his one season, Woodbury averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game. He was rated as one of the top defenders in his conference, and ranked in the top-10 in rebounding and top-12 in field goal percentage among Florida’s junior college players.
