Mission Statement:

The University of South Carolina Aiken Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2007 to honor and memorialize those special individuals in athletics who have made long lasting, exemplary contributions in a sport and/or have helped to bring recognition and prominence to the Athletic Program at USCA.  Those eligible for membership include former athletes, former coaches, or former administrators.  In addition, athletic officials, faculty, and staff members, other supporters, and major contributors who may not have been athletes but who have made major contributions to USCA through personal time, effort, and interest may also be nominated.  The controlling objectives are to honor, enshrine memory, and encourage a strong and continuing bond between the selectees, their families, and the University.

To be nominated as an Athlete:

 

  • A nominee must be a graduate of USc Aiken or have played at least two years.
  • Eligibility for admission begins on the fifth anniversary of the end of the nominee's service with the University, or nominee is deceased.
  • A nominee must have made an outstanding contribution in the field of athletics at USC Aiken.
  • A nominee must have demonstrated a sustained commitment to USC Aiken between his or her collegiate career and nomination.
  • The nominee must have exhibited continuous good citizenship.
To be nominated as a Coach or Administrator:
  • A nominee must have been employed at USC Aiken for 5 or more years.
  • Eligibility for admission begins on the fifth anniversary of the end of the nominee's service with the University, or nominee is deceased.
  • A nominee must have made long-lasting, exemplary contributions to the athletics program.
  • A nominee must have been in good standing during coaching career at USC Aiken.
  • A nominee must have continued to be a citizen in good standing and not caused unfavorable publicity for the University or community.
To be nominated as an Athletic Official, Faculty and Staff Members, other supporters:
  • Other individuals may be nominated who have made a major contribution to the University Athletic Program, though not necessarily as Athletes, through a commitment of personal time, effort, and interest and have exhibited continuous good citizenship.
  • A nominee must have been connected with the athletics program for no less than 10 years prior to the nomination.
  • A nominee must have made long-lasting, exemplary contributions to the athletics program.
  • A nominee must have exhibited continuous good citizenship.
To be nominated as a Major Contributor:
  • To be considered for membership based on non-direct athletic efforts and/or service to USC Aiken which significantly and positively affects athletics or advances or makes more meaningful the athletic experience for direct participants.
  • This provision shall not be construed to memorialize and honor mere financial contributions in this fashion nor shall it perate to exclude such generosity as a factor in examination of a nominee's credentials when viewed as a whole.
