Osbon is in her 11th year as a member of the USC Aiken athletic department. Osbon became the department’s business manager in 1999. Through the years she has earned a number of other titles, including Senior Woman Administrator, Student Athlete Advisory Committee Advisor and Cheerleading, Mascot and Dance Team Director.
In 2007, Osbon received the Outstanding Committment to Student Development Award from the Office of Student Life.
In September 2003, the Aiken, S.C., native was promoted to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Student Services.
Osbon earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from USC Aiken in 1992. In 1996, Osbon received her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.
In 2002, Osbon was named student organization advisor of the year and was selected to the Who’s Who Among Cheerleading Coaches. In addition, she has been a member of the first year academic advisor program and a staff facilitator for orientation.
The former Angie Mathis is married to Rick Osbon and they have three children, Reagan, Gemma and Sterling.
Janet Joy has been the advisor along with Angie Osbon of the dance team for the past nine years. Both Joy and Osbon have been certified by the AACA and their hard work has paid off as the dance team has won the Peach Belt Conference Dance team title four of the past seven years.
She is also the Procurement Officer for the university. Joy has been in that position now for 23 years. Before coming to USCA, she worked at Graniteville Company in Graniteville, S.C.
Joy is a
graduate of Leaville-McCampbell High School in Graniteville where
she also resides with her husband, Lucky, and their son
Stanton.
Corey Burns is one of the most sought after dance teachers in the south. His innovative teaching style and choreography have taken him all over the country.
In the past, he has performed in the Miss NC Pageant and has been assistant choreographer of the Miss Mississippi Pageant. As choreographer of the USC Aiken Dance Team, he has led them to seven conference championships and eight appearances at UDA National Collegiate Dance Team Competition, and two appearances at the NDA National Collegiate Dance Team Competition where they finished 4th in 2009. He also is a choreographer and participant in the annual Aiken Women's Heart Board Play.
Corey is also Assistant Director of Burns Dance Studio. When not at the studio he can be found as Principal at Saluda Primary School. Corey spent four years on staff with Dance Olympus and IDC, a National Convention and Competition Circuit and also teaches Master classes throughout the US and Canada.
Corey and
his wife, Kristen, have two children (Kayla and Jonathan) and
reside in Aiken, S.C.
Kristin Allen is a past four-year USCA Dance Team member and faculty member at Burns Dance Studio as the Assistant Choreographer.
Her fresh ideas in hip-hop have produced award-winning performances for Burns Dance Studio at national conventions.
Kristin is in her sixth year as assistant choreographer. She led the team to its first appearance in the Hip-Hop category at UDA Nationals in 2006.
In addition
to her work with dance, Kristin is also advisor to the USCA Chapter
of Delta Sigma Theta and works in the USCA Office of Admissions as
a recruitment counselor.
