SPARTANBURG,
S.C.--USC Aiken’s women’s cross country team placed
10th out of 25 schools participating in Saturday’s Eye Opener
Invitational hosted by Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. Junior
Marcie Milner led the Lady Pacers with a 16th place finish out of 212
runners with a time of 20:29.86.
Wingate won the meet with all five runners placing in the top 21. Mars Hill and
Columbus State were second and third. Lander placed seventh with 256 points while
USC Aiken was 10th at 283 and Augusta State was 12th at 322.
Newcomer Renea Marshall turned in a strong performance placing 37th with a time
of 21:38.45. Senior Ashley Reedy finished just outside the top 50 with a time
of 22:01.60 while Alley Dashenhaus placed 70th in her first meet with a time
of 22:57.06. Jen Mascarin rounded out USCA’s runners with a time of 27:08.32,
placing 150th.
Hilary White of Savannah College of Art and Design won the individual race with
a time of 18:30.16, more than 30 seconds ahead of Columbus State’s Janet
Chepkonga.
USC Aiken will compete next Saturday in the 15th Annual Connie Maxwell Invitational
hosted by Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. The meet will begin at 8:30 AM.
