DUE WEST, S.C.--USC Aiken’s women’s
cross country team tied for 7th place among 13 schools participating
in Thursday’s Erskine Invitational, hosted by Erskine College in
Due West, S.C. Ashley Reedy (Jefferson, Md.) finished 12th for USCA in
a time of 21:03, her best time of the season.
Marcie Milner (Aiken, S.C.) placed 14th in 21:27 and Veronica Derico (Aiken,
S.C.) finished 37th with a time of 22:55. Beata Szabo (Budapest, Hungary)
ran the 5k course in 23:53 and crossed the line in the 53rd spot. Nichole
Bennett (Augusta, Ga.) and Ashley Northington (Aiken, S.C.) placed 73rd
and 85th respectively.
“I thought Ashley Reedy and Beata really ran well and Veronica has
continued to improve all season,” said USCA Head Coach David Lyle.
Next up for the Lady Pacers is a trip to Greenwood, S.C., for the 2004
Peach Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 23. The run for the PBC crown
will begin at 10:00 a.m.
