DUE WEST, SC--USC Aiken’s Ashley Reedy set a new school record tonight at the Erskine College Invitational in Due West, S.C. The Lady Pacer cross country team finished eighth in the 14 team field and were led by Reedy’s 14th place finish in a school best time of 20:53. Reedy surpassed her own USC Aiken record, set on Oct. 3 at the Presbyterian College Invitational, by 31 seconds.

USC Aiken will finish its 2003 regular season on Oct. 25 at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Atlanta, Ga. Second-year USCA Head Coach Dana Richter and the Lady Pacers will try to improve on last season’s ninth place finish.

Kristyn Holley finished 26th in a time of 21:37. The freshman fell just six seconds shy of beating her personal best time. Veronica Derico’s time of 22:21 placed 39th. Jen Mascarin in the 59th slot and Ashley Northington in 95th round out the scoring for USC Aiken.

Carson-Newman College won the event with 80 points. Peach Belt Conference schools Lander and Georgia College & State placed second and third, respectively. The Lady Pacers’ 210 points beat the only other PBC participant, Francis Marion’s 221.

Haylee Reichert, running for the first time this season posted a time of 26:29 and finished 100th. Amy Ransom and Katie Hair placed 105th and 115th. Ransom had not ran a race since Sept. 20 at Georgia State.
