ANDERSON, SC--USC Aiken’s cross country
team placed sixth among eight teams at the Anderson College Invitational
on Saturday in Anderson, S.C. Veronica Derico led the Lady Pacers. The
junior finished 10th in a time of 22:18. Lander University won the event
with 46 points. USCA earned 120 points, just six points away from a fourth
place finish.
For the third consecutive race, three or more Lady Pacers posted times
under 23 minutes. Ashley Reedy (22:44) in 19th place and Kristyn Holley
(22:52) in 22nd joined Derico with sub-23:00 times.
Jen Mascarin (23:27) finished 27th while Ashley Northington (27:19) crossed
the line in the 51st spot.
Lander’s Tiffany Fore took home the top individual finish. The Lady
Bearcat finished the five-kilometer race in a time of 20:37.
USC Aiken will take part in its last regular season race on Thursday when
the Lady Pacers travel to Due West, S.C., for the Erskine College Invitational.
The meet will begin at 4:45 p.m., and will serve as the final tune-up for
USCA before the Peach Belt Conference Championships on October 25.
