GREENWOOD, SC--USC Aiken’s women’s cross country team placed eighth at the 13th Annual Lander/Connie Maxwell Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The event was held in Greenwood, SC. and hosted by Lander University.

Junior Veronica Derico (Aiken, S.C.) led the Lady Pacers by finishing 17th in a time of 22:23. Kristyn Holley (Belvedere, S.C.) and Ashley Reedy (Jefferson, Md.) each placed in the top 30, crossing the line in 25th and 29th.

Anderson College won the team title with 56 points. Jessica Martin of Erskine College posted the best individual time, finishing in 20:40.

The Lady Pacers will be in action again next Saturday when they travel to Atlanta, Ga., to take part in the Georgia State University Invitational. The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m.
