AIKEN, S.C.--Lindsey McNeil has been named
USC Aiken’s Assistant Sports Information Director, the University
announced on Wednesday. McNeil will begin her internship next week, taking
over for Kevin Britton, who served as Assistant SID for the previous
three years before accepting a position earlier this month at Murray
State University, an NCAA Division I member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
McNeil, an East Lansing, Mich. native, graduated this May from Michigan State
University with her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication and Public
Relations. During her time at MSU, McNeil served as an undergraduate teaching
assistant in the Department of Communication as well as working as a Spartan
Aide for the football program.
“I am very excited to be joining the athletic staff at USC Aiken and look
forward to contributing to growing Pacer Athletics,” said McNeil. “I
foresee much success in athletics at USCA and look forward to becoming part of
the campus community.”
In addition to her time at Michigan State, McNeil gained valuable event planning
experience while serving as an intern in the Granholm for Governor Committee
Office last summer. Jennifer Granholm is the current Governor of Michigan.
“I am excited to welcome Lindsey on board in the USC Aiken sports information
office,” said Brad Fields, Assistant AD for Communications, now in his
seventh year as head of the sports information department. “During her
interview process, Lindsey showed she was a natural fit for the athletic department.
Her enthusiasm, passion for college athletics, and desire to work with the student-athlete
will be an asset to the University.”
USC Aiken is a proud member of the NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt Conference
and is the home of the defending back-to-back NCAA Division II Men’s Golf
National Champions.
