AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken Chancellor Dr. Thomas
Hallman in conjunction with Athletic Director Randy Warrick and the honorable
Fred Cavanaugh, Mayor of Aiken, announced this week, August 22-28, as
Pacer Club Week. In a photo opportunity on the USC Aiken campus on Monday
afternoon, the three commemorated the start of the week-long celebration.
“With the start of the school year, our attention also turns
to another
exciting year of Pacer Athletics,” said Warrick. “The Pacer Club
is a big part of the success our athletics teams have.”
The Pacer Club is the booster organization for USC Aiken Athletics.
Mayor Cavanaugh issued a proclamation announcing “Pacer Club Week” citing
the University as an integral part of the community of Aiken and within that,
the Athletic Department as an integral part of the University.
USC Aiken is a proud member of the NCAA Division II and a charter member of the
Peach Belt Conference. It is also home to the defending back-to-back NCAA Division
II National Champion men’s golf team.
