AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken Athletic Director
Randy Warrick has been confirmed as the NCAA Division II National Golf
Committee Chair for 2004-05. Warrick is in his third year of a five-year
term on the national committee that will expire in August 2007.
“I am honored to be selected as the chair of the NCAA Division
II Men’s
Golf Committee,” said Warrick. “I look forward to continuing to work
with the other committee members and the Division II golf coaches with issues
that affect the sport of golf. For me personally, it’s exciting to be in
this position particularly since USC Aiken just won the golf national championship
and another Peach Belt school, Armstrong Atlantic State University, will host
the 2005 national championships.”
As chair of the committee, Warrick will coordinate all Division II National Golf
Committee conference calls, be involved in super region and national course inspections,
assist in setting up the administration at the 2005 NCAA Division II Championship
site, administer all Division II Golf Committee meetings, and chair the Division
II Golf Coaches meeting in New Orleans in January 2005.
The 43rd NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship will be held at the Club
of Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. and hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State. USC
Aiken is the defending Division II National Champions.
Warrick is in his 18th year as USCA’s Athletic Director. He is also chair
of the Peach Belt Conference Athletic Director’s Council as well as a Division
II Athletic Director’s Association Board of Directors member and Greater
Augusta Sports Council Board member.
