AIKEN, SC--USC Aiken Athletics Director Randy Warrick will serve on the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Committee, the NCAA announced this week. Warrick's appointment will begin immediately and continue until Sept. 1, 2006.
The duties of the committee will be to develop policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of NCAA Division II men’s golf. This includes selecting teams for post season play, as well as administration of regional sites and the Division II National Tournament.
"It is a great honor to be selected to serve on an NCAA national committee," Warrick said. "I know there will be many challenges ahead but I look forward to helping shape NCAA Division II golf."
The committee contains one representative from each of the five men’s golf regions (Northeast/East, Southeast/Atlantic, South/South Central, Central/Great Lakes, West/Northwest).
Warrick is in his 16th year as Director of Athletics at the University of South Carolina Aiken. He was hired at USCA in 1978 as head baseball coach and intramural director and has served in many different positions during his tenure.
While coaching baseball for 11 years, Warrick also served as an assistant basketball coach during the 1978-79 season and acting golf coach in 1989-90. In May of 1995, Warrick served as the tournament director for the 1995 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship, hosted by USC Aiken.
Warrick also serves on a number of other committees. These include, the NCAA Division II Athletic Directors Association Board of Directors, the Peach Belt Conference Athletic Directors’ Council, the Greater Augusta Sports Council Board and various USCA campus committees.
